More companies are delaying the purchase of new equipment in today’s economy and looking to extend the life of older machines, as a result, JJ Bender, LLC has launched the Self-Service Employee Learning Forum—its first free consulting program for small to mid-sized businesses considering self-service options to maintain their digital printing fleet.
“The marketplace is in a state of transition, as business owners look to figure out how to maintain profits with the equipment they already have in place,” says Jeffrey Bender, the President of JJ Bender.
SELF is designed to help companies audit and understand their existing service cost structure in order to determine if they can realize actual cost savings by shifting to self service. The idea for an educational program stemmed from the sales team’s realization that many companies needed a primer on the world of parts and supplies.
“We’re in a unique position having been in the industry for 29 years. We’re fielding calls from corporations that traditionally haven’t explored the idea of self-service,” says BJ Baranosky, a senior sales consultant at JJ Bender.
As part of the new program, a consultant will work with companies to discuss the potential benefits and drawbacks of self-servicing a machine. Other topics that can be discussed are things such as asset management, the redistribution of equipment, and purchasing patterns of parts and supplies. SELF is designed for companies that are currently self-servicing their own gear and those that are considering the transition into self-service.
“My main goal with this program is to transform the way businesses view self-service. It’s not something to be feared, and it makes sense for a lot of corporations who are currently in the process of re-examining their cost structure,” says Jeffrey Bender.
