Bartash Printing Implements Major Digital Press Control Improvements

(January 08, 2009) Sidney Simon, owner and CEO of Bartash Printing, a leading manufacturer of magazines, newspapers, and niche publications, announced today that the company has completed the addition of two major enhancements to the digital press controls on their Tensor cold-set web presslines. The company selected EPG (Essex Products Group) KeyColor remote ink control systems, and QI Press Controls for major system upgrades to the pressroom. Tom Meyer, Director of Production at Bartash commented, "We selected EPG & QI because they were an excellent fit for our needs. We print over 200 periodicals, and efficiency is attained through less press time and less waste. Cutting makeready times is essential to increasing capacity. The consistent accuracy of the EPG inking controls in matching color proofs to the press is what led us to installing this system throughout the pressroom. The accuracy with which QI's camera actuated system holds registration and cutoffs is truly amazing. I'm very pleased with the results we're seeing."
Press Room Manager Phil Wines added, "The registration marks utilized by the QI system are nearly invisible to the naked eye. Other sytems use marks approximately an eighth of an inch in diameter. QI's marks are approximately 1 millimeter. It results in a cleaner looking publication with no obtrusive marking. Clients are noticing the improvement."
