JohnsByrne Company receives 'Best of Show' recognition

Press release from the issuing company

JohnsByrne Company, a leading print solutions innovator catering to a national clientele in the advertising, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, healthcare, specialty product & packaging industries is pleased to announce they have received special recognition for outstanding achievement in the 7th annual 2009 Pinnacle Print Awards competition. This two-state printing competition is hosted by the Printing Industry of Illinois/Indiana Association (PII), the state's trade association for printing and the graphic arts. JohnsByrne received both "Best of Illinois" and "Best of Show" with their innovative, end-to-end approach to printing.  The winning piece, Paul Mitchell Systems sales kit, caught the attention of judges with its unique quad-fold design combined with brilliant color and unique "Soft Touch" coating.

"We are honored to have received this recognition by the PII; The Paul Mitchell sales kit is an example of how we deliver greater innovation and value to the client's marketing dollar" says Corey Gustafson, President/CEO of JohnsByrne Company. "Our unique combination of graphics services-- pre-press, structural and packaging design, UV and conventional print, automated structural direct mail, enhanced finishing solutions, pack out and fulfillment; are foot-printed to the unique needs of our diverse client base".  Mr. Gustafson adds "It is even more gratifying to have received this honor on our company's 50th anniversary". JohnsByrne Company was established in 1959 by the Gustafson family on Chicago's Printer's Row.

In addition to their two top wins, JohnsByrne received several other notable awards. Competing against 282 entries from printing and graphic arts firms in the two-state region, JohnsByrne received a total of 29 awards, nine of which earned "Best of Category" for outstanding print.  JohnsByrne also captured 15 "Award of Excellence" nods and three "Certificate of Merit" awards.

JohnsByrne's nine "Best of Category" winners will go on to compete for the coveted Benjamin Franklin Award (The "Benny") sponsored by the Printing Industry of America this fall. Winners will be announced at the Premier Print Awards held during Print 09 in Chicago.
