The Printing & Graphics Association MidAtlantic (PGAMA), a non-profit trade association for graphic communications businesses in Maryland, Virginia, D.C. and Pennsylvania, announces the appointment of Kerry C. Stackpole of McLean, Virginia as President. Mr. Stackpole succeeds Arthur Stowe, who has led the organization since 1972. The new President will begin the one month transition phase on June 1, 2009.
The selection is the culmination of a two-year search by the PGAMA Board of Directors. Extensive credentials, including a strong background with association management, convinced the Board that Mr. Stackpole was the right person to head PGAMA. His most recent position was managing director of Neoterica Partners, a leadership, strategy, and executive transition consulting firm. Prior to entering private practice, he served as president/CEO and senior executive of four other associations. He began his association career with Printing Industries of New England as director of education, and rose to become vice president for programs and administration.
Like his predecessor, Kerry Stackpole holds the earned designation of Certified Association Executive (CAE), and has been recognized by his peers for significant contributions to the profession. He was named a Fellow of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and the Center for Association Leadership in 2000.
PGAMA currently represents over 400 member firms, providing political representation, professional training and development, regulatory guidance, and services including group healthcare plans, electricity discounts, and retirement packages.
