WebsitesForPrinters.com provides total integration path With Harmony
Press release from the issuing company
Fargo, North Dakota – WebsitesForPrinters.com announces the immediate release of Harmony, a communications tool designed to allow MIS providers and other external software vendors to connect their products with the WebsitesForPrinters.com front-end website solution for printers and print-buyers.
With Harmony, a print buyer can initiate an order or estimate request on their printer's WebsitesForPrinters.com website and have that information transferred directly to the printer's MIS system in near real time. Any order information modified within the MIS system (such as job status changes) will then automatically update the same job (again in near real time) on the printer's website and notify the print buyer of the update.
This integrated approach signifies an important milestone in software development for our industry. For many years, printers have witnessed the development of two distinct paths, when it comes to customer interaction. One path started with Print MIS providers developing software to manage the business end of a print shop. Another path started with website providers developing a simple and convenient method of allowing prospects and customers to access information about their print provider.
As time has passed, the two paths have started to converge. MIS providers have added more web-related tools to their software, and website providers have added more business tools to their websites. But the paths never completely crossed... until now!
"With Harmony, WebsitesForPrinters.com has positioned itself to lead the charge toward better integration," says David Hultin, Managing Partner for WebsitesForPrinters.com. "We created Harmony to meet the requests of printers wishing to eliminate the double-entry of orders from their website into their MIS system, and print-buyers wishing to have real-time access to their job information and order history, typically stored in the printer's MIS system."
Harmony provides a method of communication that allows WebsitesForPrinters.com websites and MIS systems to interact in near real time, with an intelligent, robust, two-way communication. Using ongoing documentation provided at www.HarmonyForPrinters.com, MIS providers (and other external system developers) now have the tools to fully connect with the front end of a printer's website serviced by WebsitesForPrinters.com.
"Harmony redefines a printer's presence on the world wide web," Hultin adds, "by allowing near real time communication between the printer, the printer's MIS system, and the print buyer."
Harmony will be on display at Print '09, in conjunction with Printer's Plus, the first software provider to complete a full integration with WebsitesForPrinters.com, using Harmony. Those interested in learning more can visit www.HarmonyForPrinters.com or stop by Booth 7034 at the show.
