Centerbrook, Connecticut - Web and sheetfed printers visiting the EPG (Essex Products Group), booth 5437 at PRINT 09 are discovering exciting new products added to the KeyColor line of integrated color control systems. In addition to displaying its KeyColor C console and the KeyColor S controller for smaller presses, EPG is introducing the industry's only printing system that delivers color measurement on press in real time and simultaneously provides defect detection. New KeyColor ColorInSpec is a comprehensive tool that reads an entire color bar on every impression and can identify and trend print defects. EPG also offers color measurement and defect detection separately. In addition, PRINT 09 attendees are learning about EPG's new Adelphi presetting and Adelphi scanner interface technology for enhanced closed-loop color-control.

KeyColor ColorInSpec provides continuous closed-loop color-control and open-loop full-sheet defect detection and is easily retrofit to most offset printing presses. New KeyColor Adelphi AutoSet software utilizes the output of CTP to preset the ink fountain keys and reduce setup costs on presses with non-EPG ink control systems.  Also new, the Adelphi AutoKey scanner interface software works with other manufacturers' ink control systems on sheetfed or web presses to adjust ink keys from EPG's or other color measurement equipment to achieve required target densities.
 
"The addition of the KeyColor ColorInSpec and Adelphi products to the KeyColor integrated color-control product line greatly expand our ability to service customer needs," states Griffin.

The KeyColor C ink control system provides user-friendly, computerized control of fountain ink keys. Press operators are able to rapidly adjust ink key settings from a central ink desk to speed makeready and reduce waste.  The KeyColor S, designed for smaller presses, has all the capabilities of larger KeyColor consoles, which include combining with the KeyColor Autoset, AutoKey and Adelphi presetting and color scanner interface software.
