Mitsubishi Takes Part in Expográfica

Press release from the issuing company

LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill. -- More than 25,000 members of the graphic arts community from Mexico and Latin American states convened in the Mexican city of Guadalajara, Jalisco, from March 31-April 4 to see the integration of photography, design, prepress, printing and finishing technology.

Expográfica, considered the most important graphic arts industry event in Latin America, establishes the tone for graphic communications in that part of world. Printers and graphics professionals attending this year's exhibition were definitely interested in doing business with vendors, and Mitsubishi sales agent Suntek S.A. de C.V. was prepared to give visitors a technological boost.

"We were proud to support Expográfica 2009 with Suntek," said Marke Baker, president of Mitsubishi Lithographic Presses (MLP U.S.A., Inc.). "The company's sales staff understand the printing industry and its unique challenges in today's environment. Visitors were able to see Mitsubishi's newest sheetfed press and printing-related technologies that are designed to help printers stay competitive and profitable."

Suntek's expert team successfully introduced the new Diamond V3000 press line to the Latin American market. The Mexico City-based graphic arts distributor worked with MLP U.S.A. to mount one of the standout booths at the international trade show. The Suntek exhibit combined bold graphic displays, new-generation press systems and a strong presentation -- all to great effect.

The star of the booth was the five-color Diamond V3000LS. The Diamond V3000LS handles a sheet size of 29 1/2 x 41 11/32 inches and a stock thickness range of 0.0016 inches to 0.024 inches.

The Diamond V3000LS goes further than standard commercial sheetfed presses in delivering superior print quality, productivity and product flexibility. Press-wide improvements minimize printing problems stemming from excessive powder, oil stains, scratches, sheet misalignment, doubling, ghosting and water marking. A lubrication-free gripper shaft torsion bar and oil-less bearings on gripper shafts of impression and transfer cylinders shorten lubrication time by 75 hours per year. New "Maintenance Mode" and "Cleaning Mode" functions result in faster adjustments and quicker press cleanup. A bender-less plate clamping system saves up to 100 hours per year.

At the same time, the Diamond V3000LS retains the seven o'clock cylinder arrangement with double-diameter impression and transfer cylinders, as well as the multimode dampening system and many customer-proven features that have earned Mitsubishi presses a reputation for quality and reliability.

Press demonstrations showed the Diamond V3000LS' unprecedented color fidelity and production efficiency.

Diamond Color Navigator, a revolutionary approach to color matching and press control operations, captured a good share of the limelight. Visitors were captivated by how effortlessly the color adjustment system allows color matching and press operation to be accomplished without manual manipulation of ink keys and other console-based controls.

Representatives from MLP U.S.A., including Baker and Ken Kodama, vice president of sheetfed sales, were on hand to greet customers, lend sales support and answer questions.
