SCHAUMBURG, IL – Meadows Publishing Solutions today announced they will be demonstrating a preview of the 4.10 version of DesignMerge Pro Variable Data Printing software in booth #6021 at the Print '09 show in Chicago, September 11-16, 2009.
Included in the 4.10 release of DesignMerge for Adobe InDesign are the following new features:
-- GroupPicture: GroupPicture is a new software module that allows the user to create template blocks or "groups" that can be utilized as variable elements in a VDP job. Each group can itself contain variable elements, allowing complete control over the document layout. This unique feature is ideal for badges, coupons, ads, and any other block-oriented design element. The module is now included as a standard component of DesignMerge Pro.
-- Consecutive Numbering: DesignMerge now offers several built-in consecutive numbering features that allow numbering to be incorporated into any VDP job. All numbering values, including start/stop and pad characters, can be specified during the merge. This feature is ideal for tickets and other digital numbering applications.
-- Tagged Text Filter Support: DesignMerge variables are now able to directly support a number of "tagged" text formats, including Adobe Tags, RTF, HTML, and MPS Tags, a new Meadows tagged text format. This feature allows styling information to be embedded in database fields and merged by DesignMerge to control text color, style, and many other attributes.
-- Master Page Support: Full support for variable Master Pages is now standard with DesignMerge Pro. Master pages can be applied conditionally, and can now contain fully variable elements.
-- Scripting and Server Support: A robust scripting library has been developed for DesignMerge and will be available for use with the 4.10 release. The scripts can be developed in AppleScript, JavaScript, or VBScript, and can be used to control practically all DesignMerge features, including print automation. Meadows will also be previewing the Server version of DesignMerge Pro, which is compatible with Adobe InDesign Server for CS3 or CS4.
In addition, several new output drivers and other performance features will be included as standard components of the 4.10 release. DesignMerge Pro 4.10 is scheduled for release in early Q4 of this year.
