C.P. Bourg showcases finishing "firsts" at PRINT 09
Press release from the issuing company
Chicago – C.P. Bourg, the world's leading technology developer and supplier of in-line and near-line document feeding, binding and finishing equipment, will showcase a full product lineup at PRINT 09 in Chicago's McCormick Place, September 11-16, including several demonstrations of the company's latest innovations, new technologies and industry-best practices for turning print on paper into quality finished products.
In the C.P. Bourg booth (# 3400), the company will highlight 14 different finishing products running in-line, off-line and in a dual "hybrid" mode, and ranging from standalone perfect binders to near-line finishing production lines with multiple modules to demonstrations of in-line binding and booklet-making.
PRINT 09 attendees will be able to take in many "world-first" product and technology demonstrations, including:
- A glimpse into the future of digital color book manufacturing with live in-line demonstrations of photobook production using polyurethane reactive (PUR) adhesive, featuring the Bourg BB3002 PUR binder and new manufacturing integration technologies;
- The world's first demonstration of a super-efficient "hybrid" finishing workflow that is able to operate both in-line connected to a digital printer and off-line from any number and types of printing processes;
- The first public demonstration of C.P. Bourg's new, large-format BSF Sheet Feeder teamed with its versatile BCM Bleed Crease Module and award-winning BME Booklet Maker producing unique 14 x 11-inch landscape-format booklets from 14 x 22.5-inch sheets digitally-printed 2-up.
Attendees also will be able to see the first public demonstration of bar-coded cover and content-matching workflows monitored by software designed by C.P. Bourg strategic partner Productive Solutions that ensures integrity of the entire book manufacturing process.
Other demonstrations on the C.P. Bourg booth at PRINT 09 include squared-edge booklets produced on a Bourg Power Square 200 connected in-line to a Xerox Nuvera 144 Production System; an IBIS SmartBinder2 capable of conventional saddle-stitching and cold-gluing; and off-line perfect binding of color photobooks and of winged books with monochrome pages on separate off-line Bourg BB3002 PUR and EVA systems.
At the Bourg collating station, a single-tower Bourg BST Collator will feed sheets to a Bourg BDF Document Finisher, and a 2-tower BST configuration with dual operator controls will send collated output simultaneously to a Bourg Stacker and Bourg BME Booklet Maker.
In addition to the many demonstrations on the C.P. Bourg booth, several C.P. Bourg products also will be shown and demonstrated on the Xerox Corporation booth (# 1100) and on the xpedx booth (# 1221).
