Wareham, MA and Carol Stream, IL, MicroInk Systems Corporation, a leading provider of enterprise management solutions for printers, and GOprinter, Inc., a leading application service provider (ASP) of eBusiness solutions for manufacturers of printing supplies, equipment and paper products, have entered into a development partnership to create an electronic integration between the two companies' software platforms.
The integration will give MicroInk's users the ability to purchase graphic arts supplies electronically from dealers and suppliers who use GOprinter's eBusiness solutions. The two companies will work jointly to create the methods by which the catalogs, pricing and inventory systems of GOprinter clients will be made available within the MicroInk Enterprise 32e print management system. The integration will be based on the Open Applications Group (OAG) XML integration framework, and will interoperate with a variety of emerging industry XML standards.
MicroInk Systems Corporation provides enterprise management solutions for small to mid-sized commercial printers, in-plants and digital printing companies. The company currently has an installed base of more than 1,000 organizations utilizing its software solutions for production management, inventory control, quoting, procurement and accounting.
GOprinter provides manufacturers and distributors in the printing industry supply chain with eBusiness solutions that allow them to conduct electronic trading relationships with their customers, suppliers and business partners. The company's products are focused on the creation and management of electronic catalogs, the building and hosting of transactional websites and integration into client enterprise systems using the industry's XML standards.
GOprinter Director of Business Development, Drew Gaffney, commented, "We are excited to partner with MicroInk to integrate the supply chain with their enterprise system. This alliance will help solve many of the inventory and supplies procurement problems that suppliers and printers have historically experienced. The interest by clients for this streamlined, electronic procurement solution confirms the rapidly growing demand for integrated eBusiness solutions in the printing and graphic arts industries. Both GOprinter and MicroInk clients will greatly benefit from our joint efforts."
MicroInk Chief Executive Officer Carol Andersen affirmed, "This alliance provides tremendous value to our clients. By incorporating a direct link to suppliers within our Enterprise 32e system, the procurement process becomes simplified and cost efficient. The ability to check supplier inventory availability on-line will preclude many of the bottlenecks that occur on the shop floor because of slower procurement processes."
