Johnson's work in digital imaging and photography led the way to groundbreaking photographic innovations, improved color performance, and advances in digital photographic technology. His inclusion at the Color Management Conference is a powerful addition to an already impressive line-up.
In addition to authoring numerous books, including the most recent, Stephen Johnson on Digital Photography; Johnson is widely known as a passionate photographic educator who teaches and guest-lectures at various colleges and conferences around the world. He founded his own workshop program in 1978, and helped create the Magical Digital Bus. This 40-foot bus contained a fully equipped Macintosh digital photo lab designed to be a portable classroom for remote teaching.
Johnson's keynote presentation, Photography and Realism, is a fascinating look at the topic and covers color management's application to digital photography today. Johnson will include a review of a solid color management set-up and his methods for achieving his legendary prints. The keynote is sponsored by Heidelberg and Stephen Johnson's appearance is sponsored by Canon under its prestigious Explorer of Light program, in which Johnson is a prominent member.
Johnson's photographs have been exhibited, published, and collected in Europe, the U.S., and Japan. In addition, his photographs have graced the pages of dozens of publications, including American Photographer, Life, Audubon, and The New York Times.
"Stephen Johnson is a name well-known in the world of digital photography. (He) travels the world to offer seminars and lectures on digital photography.
