VALHALLA, N.Y. (November 4, 2008) – FUJIFILM Graphic Systems U.S.A., Inc. announced today the donation of Taskero Universe 2.0 – Fujifilm's monitoring and process control tool – to the Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (PIA/GATF) for integration at the organization's Sewickley, Penn., headquarters. Taskero Universe is a suite of performance analysis tools designed to give printers ultimate quality control across the entire plant, from prepress and into the pressroom.
Currently consisting of three components – ColorPath Verified, Server Performance
Management and Hardware Performance Management – Taskero Universe 2.0 provides quality analysis and production trending as well as real-time information on the status of jobs, prepress devices and their performance. Additionally, it helps printers minimize costly remakes and downtime.
PIA/GATF will use Taskero Universe in its research facility, in training seminars as well as in customer-focused programs. Taskero Universe's ColorPath Verified component will seamlessly monitor all of the color accurate monitors, proofers and presses in one centralized business information portal. ColorPath Verified is Web-enabled for easy access to important color verification status of any job.
"Fujifilm is committed to supplying products and services that promote and enable quality and efficiency in the industry," said Neil Johnson, Fujfilm's vice president, technical sales and support. "We are pleased to have PIA/GATF use Taskero Universe ColorPath Verified."
"I was impressed by Taskero Universe and its capabilities," said Dr. Mark Bohan, vice president of research and technology for PIA/GATF. "One of the biggest challenges for printers is matching color throughout an entire production – from digital printing to wide format to offset – and across multiple facilities and different geographic locations. Now we can."
"We're glad to be able to supply PIA/GATF with this exciting new technology," said Don Schroeder, Fujifilm's director of solutions development. "We know that it will become a valuable tool for controlling print production and in maintaining consistency with cross promotions."
"We've watched Taskero Universe develop, knowing where it began and seeing it evolve, and I think it will be an important addition to our facility," added Bohan. "It's very focused and there's a clear message about what it can do and what benefits customers will see."
