Alcan Tobacco Packaging is a leading global manufacturer of high-quality in-line rotogravure printed hinge-lid blanks and soft packs.  It is the world's largest supplier of RYO (Roll-Your-Own) tobacco booklet covers and also supplies printed OPP film, bundle wraps and tobacco pouches.  Serving major Tobacco manufacturers worldwide, the company operates in multiple countries around the world and strives to provide localised service while meeting the highest quality standards for its customers. 

Alcan Tobacco Packaging has been going through an IT harmonisation and consolidation project with a goal to move from more than twenty different software systems to manage its business processes around the world, to a handful of systems.  As part of the process, PECAS Vision was selected to manage the organisation's production operations worldwide.  The solution has been rolled out in ten of the twelve targeted facilities including sites in: Europe, Asia and North America.  The company plans to have its remaining two facilities running PECAS Vision before the end of next year.

PECAS Vision was selected by Alcan Tobacco packaging based on a number of factors.  The company was looking for an integrated ERP solution with a close fit to its industry specific needs.  The organisation required a system that would allow it to collect daily transactional data and be able to leverage it for business performance measurement and management.  "Providing our customers with the quality they are looking for at the right price is essential.  In order to accomplish this we need to connect our technical data with commercial data and measure performance metrics from different facilities," said Matthias Reinicke, IT Manager Global at Alcan Tobacco Packaging.
