Zur Yigal, Israel (May 25, 2008)  – PSik Solutions Ltd., will present the new 1Book Model D at Drupa 2008. The improved Book-On-Demand (BOD) In-House production system was designed and built in cooperation with ITS (Industrial Techno–logic Solutions) Ltd.. Model D features include improved book binding quality and higher performance. The system keeps its small footprint, while adding off-line and near-line binding capabilities.

1book model D will be exhibited at PSik's stand which is located at Hall 13, # B16. Two machines will be shown: one in a bookstore like environment and the other in a more production oriented environment.

Model D is a result of PSik’s motivation to get higher-quality and more efficient Books-On -Demand production. PSik-ITS collaboration benefits from PSik's expertise in the area of digital printing and software development, together with ITS' proven experience in industrial design and manufacturing of machines, including those for the printing industry.

1Book is an In-house, Book on Demand (BOD) production system, capable of printing and binding paperback perfect-bound books in black & white content and full color cover. The books printed by the system have the same quality and "look & feel" of conventional books. The system is able to produce an average 250-page book in five to seven minutes and does not require a dedicated operator.

1Book may be viewed as a realization of the “Long Tail” concept for books. The hybrid type of the system, as a system for making books in both office and production environments, opens new possibilities for bookstores, quick printers, commercial printers, publishers, CRDs,  libraries, schools and universities.
