Quebecor World CEO to Keynote EFI Connect User Conference
Press release from the issuing company
Foster City, Calif. – May 20, 2008 – EFI, the world leader in customer-focused digital printing innovation, today announced that Quebecor World president and CEO Jacques Mallette will keynote the ninth annual Connect 2008 user conference, scheduled July 29 to August 1, at the Wynn Las Vegas. Mr. Mallette will address the conference on Tues., July 29 at 8:30 a.m.
The print industry’s largest user conference, Connect enables leaders from around the world to attend educational sessions, test drive the latest EFI products, discuss industry trends, and network with peers.
In his keynote presentation, Mr. Mallette will share his perspective on profitability growth in challenging times and how his company has overcome obstacles faced over the last 12 months. Quebecor World began in 1954 with one printing press, and in 2007 earned revenues of $5.7 billion. Mr. Mallette joined the company in 2003 as executive vice president and chief financial officer before being appointed CEO at the end of last year.
“We look forward to welcoming Jacques to the Connect stage to share valuable insights from the past year, which are sure to motivate and inspire our customers,” said Guy Gecht, CEO of EFI.
Marc Olin, senior vice president/general manager, EFI Advanced Professional Print Software (APPS), adds: “We’ve made some changes to this year’s Connect program and are confident attendees will benefit more than ever before. Connect 2008 goes ‘back to its roots’ with a focus on print management solutions and related tools, while continuing to educate attendees on EFI’s other powerful offerings such as wide-format and digital label printing. As our theme promises, customers will have more opportunities to discover, innovate, integrate and thrive.”
This year’s event will be different than years past in several ways, with a focus on in-depth education. There will be more personalized education by integrating hands-on training into the conference sessions – more than 130 of them – and the classes will concentrate on focused topics, some with longer durations. There are more user group sessions than ever before, to ensure everyone can attend. EFI also lengthened the conference duration to balance travel and educational time, so attendees can enjoy Connect and Las Vegas more.
Early Bird registration of $1295 ends May 29. For more information and to register go to http://www.efi.com/connect08/
