The most important trade fair for the graphics and printing industry, Print2009, took place recently at the fair grounds of Kistamässan in Stockholm / Sweden. For the first time, KBA-Metronic was represented by its Scandinavian dealer, Schneidler Grafiska AB from Sweden. In a very attractive atmosphere many visitors enjoyed the absolutely highlight of the exhibition - Genius 52UV. The UV offset printing machine with waterless and keyless short inking units in the 36 x 52 cm format was simply an eye-catcher. The different applications on varied substrates were demonstrated to the interested audience. The displayed Genius 52UV had the optional varnishing unit for high gloss surfaces. The system has been installed at LSG Plastic Printing AB in Motala after the show. This continues the trend to success of the short inking technology manufactured by KBA-Metronic and convince more and more printing companies. 

The Genius 52UV processes all types of plastic foils and is ideal for the production of cards. Bank cards, telephone cards, health cards, club cards, membership cards, loyalty cards, but also mouse-pads, sales-wobblers, rulers, Lenticular/3D-pictures, etc. - : there is hardly any application  that the Genius 52UV can not print as multiple image production. But also in the wide area of packaging the handy B 3 format is often needed. With the UV technology the printed colors gets dry immediately. Water and powder is not required. The short inking technology allows for a consistent ink control without any variations as the Anilox roller places the exact amount of required colors on the substrate. This technology from KBA-Metronic also ensures the quick “inking up” of the machine producing only very little amount of maculation. This makes it a very economical machine especially in the case of expensive substrates. Particularly the high-grade, photo-realistic print quality and the degree of automation that ensures a fast job changeover makes it economical even in case of small printing jobs.

The extended varnishing version which was delivered to LSG Plastic Printing in Motala is especially suited to produce strong gloss effects on the printing substrate. LSG Plastic Printing is a medium-sized company and will replace an older waterless printing machine of a competitor with the Genius 52UV. The company is specializing in printed plastic substrates. The range of products includes tags, ISO plastic cards, place cards, luggage labels, mouse pads, plastic signs and much more.
