VIM Technologies, LTD. is announcing the coming release of VIM JT Direct Inkjet Plates, yet another product expanding the commercial offering of the company.
VIM JT Direct Inkjet Plates, first introduced at Drupa, have generated overwhelming interest from customers, distributors and the professional press. VIM Technologies has began the commercialization process of the much anticipated polyester plates, and will release them to the market in March 2009. The commercialization of the aluminum plates will start in April 2009.
"We have shown good results at Drupa and had exceeded expectations in the initial testing by customers. We have made great progress since then, showing exceptional results in run-length and printing quality in the latest tests," says Avigdor Bieber, founder and CEO of VIM Technologies.
The VIM JT Direct Inkjet Plates for offset presses are imaged on standard high quality Epson Stylus Pro UltraChrome models, using the standard Epson aqueous inks. The imaged plates require no processing and are fixed by baking in an oven, which hardens the imaged plate for the press.
"This is a technological breakthrough, as previous inkjet-imaged plates from other suppliers have required that a special imaging ink be used," added Bieber. "Because we use standard, original manufacturer's inks the printer's warranty is preserved. It also means that the same printer can still be used for conventional full-color proofing, so it can act as a proofer for the plates, saving space and money."
VIM JT Direct Inkjet Plates require minimal investment in equipment, and some printers will be able to user their current inkjet device. They provide a real low-cost CTP entry solution, which appeals to small and medium size commercial printers.
VIM is a leader in the field of digital printing plates and related imaging products that significantly increase the profitability of offset printing. By combining an innovative approach, state of the art technologies, and many years of research and development experience, VIM digital printing plates expand the profitability of digital press offerings by enabling higher quality output and capacity utilization in both short and long print runs.
