MAHWAH, N.J. -- Underscoring its commitment to providing dealers with robust products to meet the growing demand for managed print services, Sharp today introduced the DX-B350P and DX-B450P -- two new high-performance, monochrome laser printers. Featuring enhanced print speeds, advanced security features, and IT-friendly configuration and management features that will save on time, energy and money, the DX-B350P and DX-B450P are versatile, economical products that enable dealers to integrate an end-to-end solution that meets the printing requirements of nearly any size office workgroup.
The DX-B350P and DX-B450P enhance the opportunity for Sharp dealers to offer managed print services, giving them more options to meet customer's specific needs. These models provide a suite of intuitive tools to manage, monitor and maintain a fleet of Sharp devices, and include an embedded web page that allows IT administrators to easily configure and manage each device remotely, saving on support costs and increasing service efficiency. Other device management capabilities include printer status monitor, automated email alerts, and compatibility with Sharp's Printer Administration Utility (PAU).
"Managing a fleet of document devices throughout a large office can be a very time consuming task, and organizations are looking to streamline costs through managed print services," said Gary Bailer, associate director, product management, A4 MFPs, Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America. "These new workgroup laser printers can be part of a solution that centralizes the management of the Sharp MFPs, printers and fax machines in the workplace, enhancing dealer's ability to expand their managed print service offering. With advanced device management capabilities, downtime and service times are significantly reduced, resulting in improved efficiency for both the IT professional and the end-user."
With speeds of up to 35 and 45 pages-per-minute, respectively, the DX-B350P and DX-B450P, are two of Sharp's fastest printer models to date. Both models provide up to 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution, two standard paper drawers (with the ability to add two more), and include advanced finishing options such as automatic two-sided printing, and offset stacking.
The DX-B350P and DX-B450P include Windows print drivers that offer a similar look and feel to other devices in Sharp's lineup, thus improving customer usability and reducing the amount of time needed to train employees. For cross-platform environments, the new printers support both PCL (PCL 5e, PCL 6) and Adobe PostScript 3 with automated emulation switching.
Other features include a 533MHz processor for enhanced image processing power; 128MB RAM that can be expanded to 640MB; a compact footprint that enables it to fit in most business environments; expansion options for demanding document usage, with the ability to accommodate up to 1,800 pages of on-line paper; and dual paper drawers with automatic paper size sensing.
Enhanced Security
Like most of Sharp's award winning line, these new models incorporate advanced security features. Administrative access control and panel lockout feature join network features such as Port Control and IP filtering to help ensure that data is secure. An optional 40GB Hard Disk Drive Kit enables users to securely retain confidential data until it is ready to be released at the device.
