Press release from the issuing company

(October 22, 2008) Agfa Graphics announced today that Tom Saggiomo, president and CEO, will be giving the keynote presentation on Sunday, October 26, from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the GASC/PIA/GATF Teacher's Conference at GRAPH EXPO 08. The three-day program is being held October 25-27, 2008 at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois during Graph Expo. The conference is jointly presented by the Graphic Arts Show Company and the Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation.

Mr. Saggiomo, who is currently chairman of the Graphic Arts Education and Research Foundation, will give the day's keynote presentation, entitled The State of the Graphic Communications Industry. It will examine current trends and take a glimpse into the industry's direction for the future. Educators in attendance will gain valuable information that they can use when speaking with administrators and students. The 45-minute presentation will be followed by a 15-minute question and answer period.

"Graphic Arts educators are on the front lines of the future of our industry, which depends not only on the students taking an interest and passion in the graphic arts, but the dedication of teachers and instructors who guide them," said Tom Saggiomo, president and CEO of Agfa Graphics, North America. "The art and business of graphic communications continue to evolve. Print remains a key element in communicating, both as an artistic medium and as a tool for profit."

Educators will hear a variety of special presentations on recent technical advancements, as well as learn about curriculum, technology and other changes that are taking place within graphic communications programs. Attendees also receive free admission to GRAPH EXPO 08 exhibits. The program is free to full-time graphic communications educators from middle schools, technical schools, colleges, and universities in North America (U.S. and Canada). Funding is awarded to selected participants to help cover hotel costs and to help defray travel expenses.

Mr. Saggiomo, a past chair of the NPES, was honored this summer with the Champion of Education Award at the Graphic Communications Scholarship, Award and Career Advancement Foundation's ceremony. In addition, Mr. Saggiomo is being inducted into the Soderstrom Society of NAPL on Monday Oct 27th. The Soderstrom Society recognizes and honors individuals in the printing industry who have significantly contributed to the development and progress of the graphic arts, either through NAPL or through other industry activities and programs.
