The 5,000-run cover was produced by Pictorial Offset of Carlstadt, New Jersey, on 80-lb Centura Gloss cover stock, number one sheet, with 96 brightness, using a 5-color MAN-Roland 708 sheetfed press.  The cover was designed by Printing News Art Director Barbara Pinero, using Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and the MetalFX software.

Announcing the selection, Mark Geeves, MetalFX Vice President-Americas, commented: "MetalFX Technology is proud to have been selected to produce the Graph Expo 2008 cover of Printing News.  MetalFX Technology is now licensed to more than 400 printers in the Americas, and is the choice of both graphic designers and printers for producing trouble-free metallic effects using standard CMYK inks combined with the MetalFX SilveCoat or Gold ink set."

Toni McQuilken, Printing News Editor, noted, "Printing News consistently seeks to educate readers about the latest technology available.  The cover of our Graph Expo 2008 issue, using MetalFX Technology, is a striking example of what can be done by combining good graphic design with quality printing.  This is something any commercial printer can sell to their client base as part of a value-added partnership."

David Luke, Vice President of Sales for Pictorial Offset, also commented: "MetalFX is the simplest, most reliable method of achieving metallic effects in production printing.  We are pleased to have participated in this project with Printing News."
