Westdale Printing Group responds to growing demand with web press investment
Press release from the issuing company
April 20th, 2007 – Based in Cardiff, Wales, Westdale Printing Group has invested in a new Goss M600 16-page web press to improve both print quality and responsiveness for its customers.
Alan Padbury, group managing director of Westdale Printing Group, explains, “Westdale has a philosophy of investing to satisfy customer needs. The business is driven by demand for high-quality print and a flexible service that delivers on specification, on time and on quote. We selected the M600 press for premium quality, productivity and versatility to assist us in delivering this high level of service. The considerable waste reduction features will make it ideally suited to print shorter runs competitively.”
The five unit M-600 press, with a speed of up to 55,000 iph, will be configured with the Goss Autoplate fully automatic plate changing system for faster makereadies, a JF-55 combination folder and sheeter will provide maximum product flexibility. In addition the press will be supplied with a PFF (pinless former folder) module providing the additional facility of 4 or 8 page signatures. The order also comprises the award winning Goss Ecocool dryer with integrated chill rolls that improves print quality, enhances web control and reduces space requirements. Auxiliaries chosen include gluing, trimming and closed-loop color control.
“Westdale offers the most comprehensive and versatile printing service in Wales,” enthuses Padbury. “The flexibility of the M600 press and its ability to efficiently produce a diverse range of product formats across varying print runs will help us maintain our position.”
With growing concern for the environment, Westdale selected the Goss Ecocool dryer for its low-energy and pollution control features. “Energy consumption can be reduced by up to 30 percent when compared with a conventional dryer,” comments John Chambers, sales director UK and Ireland for Goss International. “We have had a long standing relationship with Westdale Press, and I am delighted they have given us the opportunity of working with them in this exciting phase of their development,” he confirms.
Printing leaflets, brochures, reports, accounts, catalogs and prospectuses, Westdale has an extensive list of clients; the majority of which come from four sectors: government, mail order, publishing and tourism.
Padbury concludes “Our business operates in an intensely competitive market place, and with this investment Westdale is once again proud to be showing our commitment to our customers. If you make working with a supplier pleasurable then customer loyalty can still occur - even in 2007,” he adds.
