Transcontinental acquires newspaper l'Express le journal d'ici

MONTREAL, June 13 - Transcontinental Inc. today announced it has acquired L'Express le journal d'ici, a French newspaper published every two weeks that serves the city of Saint-Lin-Laurentides in Quebec. The acquisition brings Transcontinental Media's newspaper total to 172 community publications across Canada, with approximately 250 million copies annually.
"Transcontinental believes community newspapers such as L'Express are vital tools in serving communities of interest," said Serge Lemieux, General Manager, Newspapers Group, Transcontinental Media. "We look forward to continuing to publish a newspaper that is relevant to this community."
