Pittsburgh, PA, October 1, 2007-PIA/GATF's 2007 Color Management Conference, December 9-11, in Phoenix, Arizona, will feature a keynote presentation by Todd Storbeck, senior publishing professional and part of the advancing technologies team at Hallmark Cards, Inc. The presentation is entitled "Delivering the Vision for Desktop Color Reproduction at Hallmark Cards."
Hallmark's legacy for quality color reproductions is not easy to accomplish with off-the-shelf solutions alone. For the past 23 years, Storbeck has helped develop many proprietary software and hardware solutions to simplify Hallmark's complex, multicolor printing systems and digital workflows. The result of Storbeck's and the entire advancing technologies team's efforts is a color reproduction workflow that is a transparent part of the design process, helping Hallmark to bridge the gap between creative color intent and the final printed product.
Storbeck's presentation at the Color Management Conference will share a brief history of Hallmark's wide-gamut, fluorescent, multicolor printing ink systems and discuss some of the technical hurdles that were required to help significantly reduce costs, increase speed, and provide flexibility in the production workflows for all of Hallmarks' ink-on-paper products.
The PIA/GATF Color Management Conference, now in its ninth year, provides attendees with expert advice on how to select the right technologies and learn best practices to take home and put to work immediately.
This conference is for beginners and experts alike and appeals not only to traditional printers but also to packaging professionals, prepress workers, graphic designers, photographers, and digital printers. This year's Color Management Conference is organized into six tracks:
