Mark T. Watkins, MeadWestvaco Senior Vice President of Forestry & Technology, to Present at 2007 Sustainable Packaging Forum

RICHMOND, VA, September 13, 2007 -- Mark T. Watkins, senior vice president of forestry and technology for MeadWestvaco Corporation, will discuss the responsibility of business in sustainability best practices at the 2007 Sustainable Packaging Forum. Mr. Watkins will deliver his presentation on Wednesday, September 26, at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
During his remarks, Mr. Watkins will share how MeadWestvaco has embraced the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) as a platform on which to build sustainable business, technology, and manufacturing policies, and achieve sustainability-driven business goals. He will also discuss a new customer procurement guide jointly developed by WBCSD and the World Resources Institute (WRI) which serves as a decision support tool for sustainable procurement practices.
The WBCSD is a global platform for companies to explore sustainable development, share knowledge, and establish best practices and to advocate business positions on key sustainability issues. Mr. Watkins is the co-chair of the WBCSD's Sustainable Forest Products Industry Working Group.
