Kodak Features Business Building Ideas and Solutions at Graph Expo
Press release from the issuing company
CHICAGO, Sept. 9 -- Applications and ideas for print providers seeking new business and profitable growth opportunities take center stage in Kodak's exhibit at Graph Expo. Displays of new products, output created and produced using KODAK solutions, information about specialty services, and more await visitors at booth #1246.
"Our theme at Graph Expo, 'Print Is-,' highlights the many reasons that print continues to bring unmatched value to marketers and consumers as a communications medium, and shows print providers some innovative ways to expand their revenue potential through new capabilities," said Kevin Joyce, Managing Director, United States and Canada Region, Kodak's Graphic Communications Group.
Kodak's Graph Expo exhibit features five key areas. The Digital Print area includes the new high end production press in the NEXPRESS Platform, the KODAK NEXPRESS S3000 Digital Production Color Press. The Impressions of Tribal Life, a photo book produced with the new NEXPRESS S3000 Press to highlight its reproduction quality and photo services applications, will be shown in the Digital Print section. The book, from the Center for Western Studies of Augustana College, includes photographs taken by Father Ambrose Mattingly from 1895 to 1905. The photo book features scans of glass plate images that have been enhanced by combining them with Native American artifacts to add color and texture.
Other products in the Digital Print area include the recently introduced KODAK NEXPRESS M700 Digital Color Press, KODAK DIGIMASTER Digital Production Systems for black and white printing, the industrial strength KODAK VERSAMARK VX5000e Printing System, and a demonstration of a mailing system.
Kodak's Web-to-Print Solutions, and the business opportunities they create for print providers by offering customers the ability to create, select and purchase products via an electronic storefront, are featured in the Unified Workflow section. KODAK EMS Business Software, a complete business workflow solution that helps manage the totality of a graphic communications business, and the KODAK PRINERGY Workflow System Version 4 will be demonstrated.
The KODAK FLEXCEL NX Digital Flexographic System, which provides previously unachievable, near offset print quality on a wide variety of substrates such as paper, flexible film, foil, and label stock, is spotlighted in the Packaging Solutions area. A KODAK TRENDSETTER NX Imager will be shown as part of the system. KODAK Cutting and Creasing Tables, which enable prepress operations to achieve new levels of predictability of the final printed piece with packaging mockups and comps produced using a KODAK APPROVAL Digital Color Imaging System, rounds out the Packaging Solutions display.
Visitors will see the KODAK MATCHPRINT Inkjet Proofing Solution, which includes support for several of the latest EPSON printers, an updated version of KODAK Proofing Software, and a new line of media, in the Prepress Solutions area. The KODAK MAGNUS 800 Platesetter and KODAK THERMAL DIRECT Non Process Plates will also be on display.
In other news from the Prepress Consumables area, Kodak announces that its offerings of more than 16 wide format inkjet media solutions, covering photographic papers and films, coated papers, and canvas and vinyl banners, are now compatible with several of the latest printers from Canon and HP. Products supported include the CANON iPF 5000, CANON iPF 8000 and CANON iPF 9000 printers, as well as the HP Z2100, HP Z3100 and HP Z6100 printers. KODAK Quick Switch Guides, complete with media specific profiles, are available to customers wanting to switch to KODAK media for their CANON or HP printers.
Attendees to the "Print Is-" Center can learn about KODAK Security Solutions, a suite of products and services designed to help protect against the growing global problem of counterfeiting and piracy. KODAK Security Solutions include the KODAK TRACELESS System for Anticounterfeiting, winner of a 2007 InterTech Technology Award from PIA/GATF. Other highlights in the "Print Is-" area include new components and enhancements for KODAK MARKETMOVER Business Development Services, information about Kodak's lean and professional services, newspaper applications, and color solutions.
At the hub of the "Print Is-" center, visitors will see how KODAK Solutions work together to create a robust, multi faceted print campaign for a franchised travel agency. Utilizing a web to print storefront, the program includes all the materials a customer would receive leading up to and after booking a trip. Applications include a promotional direct mail piece, personalized itinerary book, hotel brochures, coupons books, and elements of a customer loyalty program.
