The Océ ColorStream 10000 Full Color System
Marking a milestone in the Océ color strategy, the new Océ ColorStream 10000 continuous feed, full-color digital press is making its worldwide debut at the GRAPH EXPO show. Developed for the Graphic Arts market, the system extends the Océ Job Appropriate Color strategy to provide high quality full-process color. The digital press prints 172 full-color images per minute (ipm) and can support more than five million full-color, letter-size images a month. Additionally, the Océ ColorStream 10000 system can print 3/3 at 231 ipm and 2/2 at 353 ipm. The combination of high quality, full-color and monochrome flexibility, continuous feed productivity, dynamic pricing, and production speed opens new opportunities for digital color in the Graphic Arts marketplace. At the GRAPH EXPO show, the Océ ColorStream 10000 system will print fifteen different four-color images and a variety of bi- and multi-level black-and-white images.
The Océ VarioStream 9710 HS High Speed System
For print providers who measure productivity in terms of flexibility and raw speed, Océ will showcase the flagship model in a new series of Océ VarioStream 9000 high-speed digital printing systems. The Océ VarioStream 9710 system blazes through black-and-white print volumes at 1,515 ipm with a powerful duty cycle of 43 million impressions per month. The new high-speed model maintains the signature versatility of the Océ VarioStream 9000 platform, offering superior interoperability, finishing flexibility and application support. The Océ VarioStream 9710 system can be field-upgraded with Océ CustomTone custom toner for two or three-color printing. At the GRAPH EXPO show, the Océ VarioStream 9710 system will print 6"x9" copies of Jane Austin's "Sense and Sensibility" and a Bank4Life, black-and-white transpromo application for the financial services industry.
The Next Generation of the Océ VarioPrint 6000 Series
A highlight of the Océ booth will be the next generation of the market-changing Océ VarioPrint 6000 series of single-engine duplex cut-sheet digital printers. The Océ VarioPrint 6250 digital duplex printer recently received a 2007 InterTech Technology Award from the Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation. The latest version of this award-winning product line offers significant advancements in workflow management and interoperability, sustainability and productivity. At the GRAPH EXPO show, the Océ VarioPrint 6250 system will be shown with a Lasermax DocuSheeter roll feed system, which feeds single sheets to the printer to minimize operator intervention. Also, sample media books and variable data postcards will be bound on an SDD perfect binder.
The Océ VarioPrint 6160 system prints 160 duplex prints per minute and supports a monthly duty cycle of 4.5 million prints. Like all Océ VarioPrint 6000 systems, the Océ VarioPrint 6160 system is powered by revolutionary Océ Gemini Instant Duplex technology to enable single-engine duplex printing in one pass. The Océ VarioPrint 6160 system is being shown printing a variety of applications, including a perfect-bound book of Sudoku puzzles and a text messaging reference booklet. It's also being shown with an Océ BLM 500 book maker printing a saddle-stitched guide to the city of Chicago. Every Océ BLM500 system combines stitching, folding, spine forming and long-edge trimming in a single device to produce high-quality square-spine books up to 200 pages or 10 mm thick, double the capability of previous technologies.
Océ VarioStream 7650cx with Océ PRISMA Software
Providing leadership in the rapidly growing digital book printing market, the Océ VarioStream 7650cx continuous feed digital press will be shown with Océ PRISMA software powering the Océ Digital Book Solution in a fast, flexible PDF workflow. The Océ VarioStream 7650cx will be configured with inline WEKO and Hunkeler pre- and post processing equipment. It will run three-up, 6" x 9" book blocks bound near-line using a Horizon binder and three-knife trimmer to produce an iUniverse book, "The Chinese Buffet" by Anthony Rose. Rose will be in the booth signing books on September 9 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and on September 10 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Océ booth visitors will also see the system printing "No Such Thing as Writer's Block: Creative Works by the Next Generation of Authors", a collection of works by students who participated in the Océ Future Authors Project workshop this summer. The color covers are being printed on the Océ CS 650 Pro color system. The Océ VarioStream 7650cx will also produce 2/1 black and orange mileage statements enriched with targeted messages and coupons, demonstrating streamlined printing of transpromo jobs.
Océ CS650 Pro Full-Color Digital Press with the Creo Controller
Further extending the Océ Job Appropriate Color strategy, the 65-ipm Océ CS650 Pro digital color system produces high-quality, cut-sheet color output at production speed, with one of the industry's lowest total costs of ownership. At the GRAPH EXPO show, the system will be shown with the powerful Creo front-end controller to accelerate productivity. The Océ CS650 Pro system will be shown producing a variety of full-color images, including full-color book covers for perfect-bound books printed on the Océ Digital Book solution. Both covers will be UV coated before binding with a TecLighting coater. The system also will print and stitch full-color fashion brochures and covers for a Chicago city guide.
Océ PRISMA Workflow Software
Software is at the heart of every print operation, and GRAPH EXPO attendees will see Océ PRISMA software powering live workflows throughout Booth 655 and driving the solutions on display. In addition, the Océ PRISMA station features seven servers equipped with different Océ PRISMA workflow software modules, including many new software versions.
Océ Wide Format Printing Systems
Océ Wide Format Printing Systems will showcase an array of print solutions for display graphics, technical document and mapping applications in Océ Booth 4463. The exhibit will highlight a streamlined large format workflow featuring the "all Océ" designed and built Océ Arizona 250 GT flatbed printer. This award-winning UV-curable printer will be printing onto a variety of substrates, demonstrating its versatility and near-photographic image quality. The Océ CS9000 series roll based inkjet printers, including the new Océ CS9060 64-inch wide printer, will also be producing prints using odor free, eco-solvent ink that features up to 3 year outdoor durability. The output from these products will then be cut with the Zünd L-2500 automated contour cutting solution. The printers, digital cutting table and software for preparing and interpreting the cutting data provide a complete digital system that streamlines the workflow - from prepress to finishing - of rigid and flexible display graphics media.
For technical drawings and mapping applications, attendees will see the Océ TDS700 large-format monochrome printer, a highly productive, mid-volume system that prints, copies and scans technical documents quickly and with exceptional quality. Its highly flexible, modular design provides support for multiple media configurations, monochrome or color scanning, a variety of finishing options and a suite of software tools. For highly productive color printing, the Océ TCS500 print/copy/scan system is the most productive large format, color CAD print system on the market today. Its revolutionary new Dynamic Switching Technology automatically optimizes print speed and print quality when printing lines, text, and images in the same document making it ideal for producing quantities of large format technical documents like CAD line drawings and complex GIS files.
