xpedx Selects Responsive Solutions' Customer + Software Suite for New VDP Offering
Press release from the issuing company
ST. PETERSBURG, FL, September 5, 2007 -- Responsive Solutions, Inc. (RSI), an industry leader in digital variable communications, announces that xpedx has selected RSI’s CUSTOMER + as the underlying technology for its new variable data print offering to customers.
xpedx will formally introduce a new program to help U.S. printers install the devices needed to produce variable data printing (VDP) at their facility. The program builds on the company’s successful “pay-per-click” digital press acquisition program by adding new VDP software from Responsive Solutions, Inc., as well as training. RSI is at booth 5242 and xpedx is at booth 3808 at this year’s Graph Expo.
“Responsive Solutions’ CUSTOMER + software suite is feature-rich and easy to integrate,” said Dan Wish, general manager of the xpedx National Technology Center, Twinsburg, Ohio.
CUSTOMER + is a fully integrated suite of digital print software which enables printers, both large and small, to provide web-to-print services, e-commerce shopping carts, variable print and fulfillment services. In providing these services, printers are able to move upstream in the value chain and not be relegated to commodity offerings.
The new “pay-per-click” program by xpedx enables printers to get a production-rated digital press installed in their facility while only paying for each piece produced. “The response to the program has been strong from printers coast-to-coast because there are no capital requirements to begin producing digital print,” said Wish.
Frank Miller, President of Responsive Solutions, Inc. wholeheartedly endorsed this approach, saying, “The new xpedx offering provides printers with access to our world-class technology and a pay-per-click approach to digital production that is truly innovative. We are excited that xpedx chose our technology as its foundation.”
Responsive Solutions, Inc. develops mission-critical applications for the Graphic Communications sector so that companies can increase profitability. The robust product set includes a comprehensive out-of-the box e-commerce storefront, variable web-to-print capabilities, variable data emails and print, as well as personalized landing pages. The product also includes fulfillment and digital asset management modules.
