(November 19, 2008) All Polestar UK gravure and web offset plants now have FSC and PEFC status, following the accreditation of Polestar Varnicoat.
Polestar Direct became the first company within the organisation to be accredited less than two years ago. Each site has subsequently worked towards accreditation in order to meet the demands of both an increasing environmental awareness within the marketplace and the specific needs of its existing and potential customers. With all companies accredited, Polestar is more able to meet its commitment to membership of WWF-UK’s Forest Trade Network, in offering FSC or PEFC papers to the exclusion of uncertified papers.
Phil Boynes, managing director of Polestar Varnicoat, says: “Last but not least! We are delighted to have attained these accreditations and Chain of Custody Certification. Although we have had the benefit of the experiences of our sister companies, the team at Varnicoat has worked hard and we are of course awarded this status in our own right, which is testimony to the efforts put in.”
