Press release from the issuing company

CHESTNUT HILL, MA -- August 14, 2007 -- Online registration for Margie Dana's 2nd Annual Print Buyers Conference on November 7-8th in Westford, MA, is now open.
Produced by Boston Print Buyers, a division of Print Buyers International, LLC, the conference is designed specifically for printing and graphic arts professionals who purchase or influence the purchase of printing. The two-day conference will be held at the Westford Regency Inn & Conference Center in Westford, Massachusetts.
Themed “Challengers vs. Champions,” the 2nd Annual Print Buyers Conference will offer 21 sessions, panels, and provocative presentations to help attendees explore the latest ideas in digital printing, expose potential pitfalls, and learn practical lessons they can immediately apply to their businesses and careers. This year’s programming offers nearly twice as many sessions as the 2006 conference.
Content-Rich Programming
This year’s program offers something for everyone who works with the printing industry, in whatever industry they’re in and at all levels of experience.
Some of the sessions at the conference include:
- Everything You Must Know about Digital Printing;
- Mastering the Art of Print Buying Negotiations;
- How to Tell a Heidelberg from a Hole in the Ground;
- Crossing Over to Cross Media;
- Preparing Files that Print;
- PDF Do’s and Don’ts;
- Avoiding Mail Mayhem;
- Taming the Color Management Beast.
In addition, the conference will feature major panel presentations, including a print buyer panel moderated by Margie Dana, the founder of Print Buyers International and Boston Print Buyers, where experienced print buyers from major industries share their opinions and expertise. More than 20 speakers and panelists -- all seasoned industry experts -- will deliver top-notch educational sessions at this two-day conference that caters to print customers, including graphic designers.
Speaker Quote
One of last year’s most popular speakers was Daniel Dejan, National Print/Creative Specialist for Sappi Fine Paper. Dejan returns this November. “I am so pleased and honored to be asked to return to speak. With last year's conference's incredible success, and the amazing buzz the conference generated all over the country, I am sure this year's conference will continue to deliver the excellent and valuable presentations and vendor showcase our industry requires to not only stay current but to be ahead of the curve. With the high quality of presenters, information and solution providers participating, this conference is without a doubt one of the most important events not just for print buyers but for anyone in the graphic arts industry,” Dejan wrote.
Dejan will deliver two presentations: “Preparing Files that Print,” on Wednesday, and “In Pursuit of Quality” during the luncheon on Thursday.
Renowned Keynoters
The November 7th keynote dinner will present two experts who are the biggest names in the printing industry today: Frank Romano, WhatTheyThink.com contributor, author, educator, industry guru, and world-class speaker, and Dr. Joe Webb, Director of WhatTheyThink.com's Economics and Research Center. They will debate the direction and meaning of print today: where it’s going, what’s at stake, and how it will change.
It is Frank Romano’s second year as conference keynoter, and he was eager to return. “PBI is now the premier event for print buyers, creative and media professionals. Margie Dana has done the most to educate this unique market with her articles, presentations, and conferences. Don’t miss the November extravaganza,” said Romano, RIT professor emeritus.
Exhibit Hall
The number of firms participating in the Exhibit Hall Showcase has expanded this year to accommodate 39 firms. Attendees will meet a range of service providers, including printers, paper firms and merchants, software developers, promotions firms and more.
