New KODAK INSITE Creative Workflow System Version 3.0 Streamlines Content Creation, Simplifies Approvals
Press release from the issuing company
ROCHESTER, N.Y., Aug. 3 -- Kodak’s latest web based workflow solution introduces a number of enhancements to simplify the sharing of graphics rich content for proofing, review and approval. Version 3.0 of the KODAK INSITE Creative Workflow System offers creative professionals and print providers a more efficient way to manage the creative process. It allows users to submit content to a project space, and provide secure and controlled access to designated users involved in the project.
“The INSITE Creative Workflow System helps users manage the sharing and approval of content among a set of users with varying roles regardless of physical location,” said Pat Lord, Product Manager, KODAK Portal Products. “New features in Version 3.0 make the system more versatile and easier to use.”
INSITE Creative Workflow System Version 3.0’s enhanced color capabilities capitalize on the latest advantages of KODAK MATCHPRINT Virtual Technology. A new spot color database is used to define the LAB values of spot colors; this color recipe can be used rather than relying on the CMYK recipe from the file, resulting in a more accurate color representation in Smart Review. N-color profiles are also supported to allow proofing of extended color gamuts and enhanced spot color fidelity.
The overall look and usability of the KODAK Smart Review Proofing Client has been upgraded through improved controls and an enhanced layout. Smart Review now enables elements in a project to be easily verified for confirmation and review of required changes. The Compare function enables two pages to be viewed side by side, along with a third image that shows all of the differences between the two. Differences can be displayed in a variety of ways, including the ability to zoom in on a page to see particular areas in greater detail. Additional features include the ability to copy and paste annotations between elements, set the status and enter comments of individual annotations, and manage annotations through an Annotations Manager dialog box.
An auto task option allows elements to be assigned to a project task as they are uploaded. Users participating in the review and approval workflow can work with those elements as soon as they are available in the project.
User Roles within Version 3.0 make it easy to manage how users interact with the system. Roles define a collection of user rights and access permissions that determine what options can be seen in the user interface, the actions that can be formed, and what jobs and pages can be accessed. User Roles provide a flexible tool to define how different types of customers and users participate in the review, approval and production workflow.
Through the event based email notification, users can easily manage the information they see about project activities. For example, if a user only needs to know about the upload activity of a project, they can subscribe to that event only and avoid receiving notifications for other events. This eliminates unnecessary emails in the user’s inbox.
