Lewis Creative Technologies Uses Two iGen3 Presses to Print 1 Million Web-to-Print, Customized Color Jobs Monthly

Press release from the issuing company

Thursday August 2 -- RICHMOND, Va. & ROCHESTER, N.Y.-- Lewis Creative Technologies has grown its digital color volume, powered by two Xerox Corporation iGen3 Digital Production Presses, to more than 1 million prints monthly, producing everything from personalized new member booklets to application forms and surveys.
The commercial print provider uses its Xerox iGen3 color presses, driven by Xerox FreeFlow DocuSP Color Servers, to keep up with increased customer demand for automated Web-to-print applications for customized online order fulfillment. Examples include customer retention and loyalty applications and full-service surveys for its customers in the insurance, financial, consumer, educational and medical industries.
Global Safe Haven Network (GSHN), for example, depends on personalized communications to increase its membership. The organization, which works to inform young travelers about safe travel practices, uses Lewis Creative Technologies' print services to create highly-targeted new membership packages. Through an online registration process, GSHN prints booklet covers personalized with the recipients' names and contact information and membership cards are printed on custom Xerox DocuCards. Designed to be waterproof, tear-proof and durable, Xerox DocuCards are used to create membership cards, identification cards and loyalty cards where durability and professional looking images are important.
"The transition to digital is necessary for print providers to survive in today's competitive market, which is why we chose to install Xerox iGen3 presses," said Chris Lewis, president, Lewis Creative Technologies. "The iGen3 presses enable us to create high-value applications to solve our clients' specific business needs, especially at short-run lengths. It wouldn't be economically feasible to produce these applications without digital technology, and in fact we've achieved double-digit revenue growth since implementing digital capabilities."
Lewis Creative Technologies uses the XMPie Personal Effect(TM) suite for nearly all of its personalized and one-to-one applications as well as XMPie APIs for custom interface and application development. The company also plans to use XMPie's UImage(TM) technology on its upcoming projects to help integrate image personalization with variable data printing. XMPie is a standalone software unit of Xerox.
Each Xerox iGen3 press is equipped with the extra large paper option (14.33" x 22.5") to allow more jobs to run on each sheet. Lewis Creative Technologies also uses the OPEN New Opportunities with Digital Printing Kit from Xerox's ProfitAccelerator(TM) Digital Business Resources Collection to help its salespeople educate customers about the possibilities afforded by digital technology. The kit features nine Xerox cross-channel communications programs and highlights the benefits of digital direct-mail campaigns - from simple personalization to more sophisticated cross-media programs.
A Xerox Premier Partner, Lewis Creative Technologies entered digital printing in 2001 with the purchase of a Xerox DocuColor 2045 Digital Color Press to complement its traditional offset business.
