QuadTech to Bring Color Control to the Middle East

Press release from the issuing company

Sussex, WI, March 11, 2008 – QuadTech, Inc. today announced a new agreement with Masar Printing and Publishing, a Dubai-based company that serves as the commercial printing arm of the Arab Media Group conglomerate which has interests in newspapers, television, radio, outdoor, and events.

As one of the largest commercial printing presses in the region, Masar's market niche includes newspapers, directories, magazines, catalogs, and books printed with coated covers as well as packaging for the semi-industrial printing market.  The company has four divisions:  newspaper web, commercial web, sheet-fed offset printing and digital printing.

Masar purchased the full slate of QuadTech control products including the Color Control System.  The deal marks the first time in QuadTech's ground-breaking history that the company will be installing a Color Control System in the Middle East.

Dubai is the main city of the seven emirates that constitute the United Arab Emirates in the eastern Arabian Peninsula. While Dubai's economy was built on the oil industry, today revenue from oil and natural gas account for less than 3% of its $46 billion gross domestic product.

As the economy of Dubai has diversified, it has become a hub for services industries such as finance and information technology.  QuadTech's deal with Masar Printing and Publishing represents a major development in the growing Middle Eastern print industry.

As Masar continues to grow, the QuadTech Color Control System will help the company achieve high quality color through reduced makeready time and enhanced productivity throughout its press run.

Additionally, with the QuadTech Register Guidance System and QuadTech Ribbon Control System, both with MultiCam, Masar will get superb color-to-color registration and reduced waste on every job because the system utilizes a technology developed specifically for printing applications.

Finally, Masar will position itself at the forefront of increased efficiency with the network-based ICON integrated software platform.  ICON will enable Masar experts to run automated press controls from a single, centralized station.

"QuadTech is extremely pleased to be working with Masar Printing and Publishing," said Karl Frichen, President of QuadTech.  "We understand that expanding our global reach to the Middle East begins with establishing a close bond with Masar.  As is the case with all of our customers, QuadTech aims to provide Masar with the total customer care for which we're known."

"We are delighted that Masar Printing & Publishing has partnered with such an esteemed international organization as QuadTech," said Faisal bin Haider, General Manager of Masar.  "As we implement the latest technologies, our objective is to optimize our setup and achieve the best results.  Our partnership with QuadTech will ultimately realize continued growth for Masar Printing, and of course, top quality service for our customers."
