Graphic Arts Association Announces Call for Entries
Press release from the issuing company
January 2008 - The Graphic Arts Association (Trevose, PA) is calling for entries for their 2008 Neographics Power of Print Competition. Neographics is one of the nation’s largest regional graphic communications competitions dedicated to recognizing and rewarding excellence, quality and service that is generated within the graphic arts, packaging and converting industries.
If you are a printer, service bureau, advertising agency, finisher, packaging and/or converting company, binder, platemaker, specialty shop, desktop publisher, editor, public relations professional, graphic designer or a student, you can enter Neographics. All submissions must have been produced between February 1, 2007 and January 31st 2008. The deadline to submit entries is March 14, 2008.
Judging occurs over several days by three teams of judges. Each set of judges is a well-balanced mix of technical, production and design expertise. The judging guidelines separate criteria for each of the three award levels. The award levels are “Franklin Award for Excellence,” “Best of Category” and the coveted “Power of Print” award. Entry pieces are judged anonymously, with a number attached to each submission instead of a name. Judges examine and grade each entry based upon overall design, prepress preparation, printing and finishing. The number of colors, press size and printing process are considered when determining winners.
The culmination of Neographics 2008 will be celebrated during the award exhibition, ceremony and dinner on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at the Crystal Tea Room, Wanamaker Building, Philadelphia, PA. The event, attended by approximately 375 printing industry representatives, commences with a cocktail hour and an exhibition of the winning entries.
The entry form can be obtained by calling Jennifer Crosier at GAA 215-396-2300 or can be downloaded from http://www.gaa1900.com/NeoEntryForm.pdf.
