EAGAN, Minn. - WAM!NET Inc., a leading provider of digital content management services for the global media industry, today announced that it has named Richard G. Marklund to the position of executive vice president, International and Business Development. Marklund, who joined WAM!NET in August in the newly created role of senior vice president, International, previously served as president and chief executive officer of Hyperport International, Inc. He brings more than 20 years experience to WAM!NET, having served in a variety of executive management and international positions with both public and private companies, ranging from small entrepreneurial start-ups to large multi-billion dollar corporations. Marklund's extensive background includes both domestic and international business development and marketing in a number of industries, including high-tech, Internet, multi-media, communications, finance, real estate development, capital equipment and consumer products. Additionally, he brings in-depth experience in both Asia and Europe.
