Schawk Named Best Workplace in the Americas

Press release from the issuing company

DES PLAINES, IL, January 9 2008 - Schawk, Inc., one of the world's leading providers of digital brand image management solutions to the consumer products packaging industry, announced today that it has been named a 2007 "Best Workplace in the Americas" for their outstanding human relations practices by the Printing Industries Association of America (PIA) and the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (GATF).
This is the Company's third consecutive award in the "Best Workplace in the Americas" category, in addition to two previous honors received from the PIA and GATF. The Best Workplace awards program recognizes companies that commit to investing in their workforce by creating an environment in which employees thrive professionally through sound human relations practices.
This recent honor marks the fourth award Schawk received in 2007 that acknowledges the Company's outstanding human relations practices. Earlier in 2007, Schawk was named a "101 Best and Brightest Company to Work For in Chicago" for the third succeeding year, and for the first time, a "101 Best and Brightest Company to Work For" in Western Michigan and Detroit.
Companies were evaluated and judged on criteria that demonstrate active concern for their employees' work environment and their personal goals and ambitions. The evaluation criteria included: Management Practices, Work Environment, Training and Development Opportunities, Work/Life Balance, Recognition and Rewards, and Health and Wellness Programs.
"Retaining, managing and leveraging our organizational knowledge is vital to Schawk's continued market leadership," said David A. Schawk, president and chief executive officer. "To retain and grow our intellectual capital, we must ensure that we're doing everything we can to demonstrate to our employees that we value the knowledge, insights and creativity they bring to our business."
"We are proud to earn this recognition from the Printing Industries of America and the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation," said Jennifer Erfurth, global vice president of human resources at Schawk. "It is inspiring to our entire Human Resources team and reaffirms that our practices align with the 'best-of-the-best' HR practices."
