R&E Council of NAPL Names John Humrich Pressroom Operations Manager of the Year

Press release from the issuing company

PARAMUS, NJ, JUNE 14, 2007 – John Humrich, Vice President of Operations of Monroe Litho, Rochester, NY, has been named the 2007 Pressroom Operations Manager of the Year by the Research & Engineering Council of NAPL. The annual award, established in 2002, recognizes excellence in pressroom production management. The award will be presented to Humrich at the R&E Council of NAPL Applied Technology Conference (June 20-22 in Atlanta, GA).

“By virtue of his outstanding record of superior achievement in pressroom management, John is uniquely qualified for this recognition,” said R&E Council of NAPL Managing Director Robert G. Whitton in announcing the award. “We extend him our sincere congratulations.”

Humrich was nominated for the award by Stephen R. Whittaker, Monroe Litho’s Vice President, Quality Assurance, who cited Humrich’s considerable accomplishments in advancing pressroom operations at the company, a sheetfed provider of graphic communications solutions. The many technology improvements Humrich has implemented include the designing, engineering, and building of a special inline finishing “assembly line” that takes a finished line of product and shrink wraps and delivers it to a packaging station. The implementation, which allows for continuous manufacturing, enabled Monroe to accept a major new piece of business.

In his nomination form, Whittaker noted that Humrich, in addition to his production expertise, is an effective leader of Monroe’s production staff, providing “a great deal of coaching and mentoring to assist his operators in their own improvement in our business environment.”

Humrich, who holds a BS degree in Printing Management from Rochester Institute of Technology, has worked in the printing industry for more than 20 years serving in a range of areas, including Estimating, Customer Service, Sales, and Production. He was named Vice President of Operations at Monroe Litho in 2002.
