GMG systems receive FOGRA 39L certification

Press release from the issuing company

Tuebingen (02.09.2007) - GMG, supplier of high-end color management and proofing solutions, today announced that the company has received certification for the new FOGRA 39L standard (ISO Coated V2) for the GMG ColorProof proofing system in conjunction with GMG ProofPaper semimatte 250 proofing paper and the printers of the Epson x800 series, as well as the Epson Stylus 4000/7600/9600 printers. The FOGRA 39L standard is the successor to the FOGRA 27L standard, which has been established for years and characterizes the printing conditions for the offset standard. Extensive experience from day-to-day offset printing practice was taken into account in the new, optimized 39L standard. Leading associations, such as FOGRA, ECI and bvdm, have been recommending use of this new standard since the beginning of this year. As of now, the new proofing profiles are available free of charge to all registered users in the Support area of the GMG Web site. Similarly, the corresponding standards for GMG ProofControl can also be downloaded there. In addition to the new FOGRA 39L standard certification, more and more new proofing systems have been certified by FOGRA in recent weeks and months, and corresponding profiles made available to users. Particular mention should be made here of the GMG DotProof halftone proofing system with the new HP Designjet Z2100 and the two GMG proofing papers GMG ProofPaper semimatte 250 and GMG ProofPaper gloss 260, which has in the meantime also received FOGRA certification. GMG will continue to focus on standardization in the future. In the first quarter of 2007, further proofing profiles for the new FOGRA 39L (ISO Coated V2) and FOGRA 40L (ISO SC) characterization data can already be expected for the Epson printer families and the new HP Designjet Z series in combination with the GMG proofing media. These profiles, too, will be available to registered users free of charge in the Support area of the GMG Web site, so, it is worthwhile to visit the site regularly. To enable users to integrate the new printing standards smoothly, GMG will provide corresponding GMG ColorServer CMYK conversion profiles, e.g. from ISO Coated (27L) to ISO Coated V2 (39L), free of charge in the course of the first quarter.
