Padgett Receives The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Certification
Press release from the issuing company
DALLAS–(March 13, 2007) -- Padgett President and CEO, David Torok, announced
Padgett is proud to be one of the first printers in Texas to be certified as
a Chain-of-Custody company by the SmartWood Program of the Raniforest
Alliance, meeting the standards of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
“Padgett has always been dedicated to producing high-quality work while
helping to safeguard the environment though recycling and the use of
environmentally friendly goods,” said David Torok. “We are proud to now be
certified to display the FSC trademark and the Rainforest Alliance Certified
seal on our customers’ printed products.”
Founded in 1993, the FSC promotes environmentally appropriate, socially
beneficial and economically viable forestry practices around the world. The
certification process ensures that a product has passed from an
FSC-certified forest through a certified mill and on to a certified
merchant. There are two types of FSC certification: Forest Management, which
guarantees that a forest adheres to internationally agreed-upon management
practices; and Chain-of-Custody, which provides that processing,
transformation, manufacturing and distribution of forest products are
verified from start to point of sale.
