PINE Event a Success with More Than 300 Print Executives Present

Southborough, Mass. - Nov. 6, 2007 - More than 300 print industry professionals helped inaugurate a new Awards of Excellence print competition at Printing Industries of New England's annual Industry Awards Gala last week.
In addition, several individual and company achievements that serve the industry were recognized. Randy Davidson, founder of WhatTheyThink.com was named PINE's 2007 Industry Influencer Award winner for the development of the WhatTheyThink.com web site, which serves print industry professionals nationally and globally. WhatTheyThink.com business partner Joe Webb, Ph.D., accepted the award on behalf of Davidson who could not attend. The Influencer Award is sponsored by Heidelberg.

UniGraphic, a multi-faceted print service provider based in Woburn, Mass., was presented PINE's Dedication to Excellence Award for its commitment over the past year to ongoing employee training and professional development. The Education Award is sponsored by Adobe.
RR Donnelley - W.E. Andrews in Bedford, Mass. was recognized for 50 years of PINE membership. The Atlas Press in West Boylston, Mass. was recognized for 25 years of membership in the association. Three other companies also received 25-year membership plaques: Red Mill Graphics of North Chelmsford, Mass.; Waterfront Printing of Boston; and Wellesley College Printing Services of Wellesley, Mass.
Awards of Excellence More than 50 member companies submitted entries for PINE's Awards of Excellence, a new print competition for New England's $12 billion print marketplace. Ffity-three Pinnacle Awards representing the best work in a particular category were presented. Several companies were multiple Pinnacle winners including RR Donnelley - W.E. Andrews; Acme Printing, Wilmington, Mass.; Kirkwood Printing,Wilmington, Mass.; Capital Offset, Concord, N.H.; Flagship Press , North Andover, Mass.; Dartmouth Printing Company, Hanover, N.H.; Arrow Press, Pittsfield, Mass.; Bassette Printers, West Springfield, Mass.; UniGraphic and Deschamps Printing, Salem Mass. Penmor Lithographers of Lewiston, Maine, won the Best of Show Award for its printing of a four-color catalog for Steinway Lyngdorph.
