New Printing Executive Network (PEN) Group Formed

Sewickley, PA, November 1, 2006 -- Six printers from across the country met October 17-18, 2006 for the first meeting of the newest PIA/GATF Printing Executive Network (PEN) Eagle-2006 group. Hosted by Haves McNeal, president & CEO, Creative Printing Services, Inc., DesPlaines, IL, members toured the Illinois plant and then settled down to discuss the challenges the group faces daily. Other members attending were Robert Anderson, president, Prisma Graphics Inc., Phoenix, AZ; Chris Kurtzman, president, Bang Printing, Brainerd, MN; Chris Illman, president, Coakley Tech, Milwaukee, WI; John Robinson, CEO/owner, GHP, West Haven, CT; and Randall Steenbergen, CEO/owner, Print Communications, Indianapolis, IN. Unable to attend the first meeting were members Dan Mahany, president, Canfield & Tack, Rochester, NY, and Erwin Hudelist, president, Hagadone Printing, Honolulu, HI. Sales volume for the group ranges from $15-35 million. Haves McNeal concluded in his wrap-up, "We had a great time together these past two days. The meeting was filled with rich information and it was shared freely." Randy Steenbergen said, "Even though we were two members short, I feel this is a very good group. It appears that we are a cross section of print businesses all sharing in a common goal, to succeed. The format and networking was perfect and I look forward to our next meeting in March." Chris Illman enjoyed the uniqueness of the members saying, "The group is a very talented mix of diverse professionals who can assist each other in growing successfully."
