Printing Companies To Be Honored At PINE Awards Gala

Southborough, Mass. (Oct. 31, 2006) -- Leading printing and graphic communications companies across New England's $12 billion print marketplace will be recognized for their achievements at the Industry Awards Gala, Thursday, Nov. 9th.
Printing Industries of New England, the largest trade association to serve printing and graphic communications companies throughout New England, will host the Industry Awards Gala. The event begins with the annual business meeting at 5:30 p.m.; a welcoming reception at 6 p.m.; and the banquet begins at 7. It will be held just outside Boston at the Sheraton Needham Hotel in Needham, Mass. The lead sponsors for the event are Heidelberg and Adobe.
Dedication to Education Award
The Smith Print, a full service communications solution company in Norwell, Mass. well known for its multi-color sheetfed printing, will receive PINE's Dedication to Education Award for its commitment to employee training and development over the past year.

Continuous Membership Awards
Four companies across the region will be recognized for lengthy membership in PINE. Dartmouth Printing Company in Hanover, N.H. will be presented a 50-year award. Three other companies will receive 25-year awards. They are Arlington Lithograph Company, Arlington, Mass.; Deschamps Printing Company, Salem, Mass.; and One Right Business Systems, Lewiston, N.H.
Safety Performance Award
Two PINE member companies, Arthur Blank & Co. of Boston, and Ames Safety Envelope Company of Somerville, Mass. will receive the Premier Safety Performance Award for efforts undertaken to implement new risk management programs and for a strong commitment to employee safety.
The safety performance award is presented by the Graphic Arts Compensation Corporation, PINE's self-insured workers' compensation program.
Other company recognitions
Four New England companies will be recognized for winning a total of five Benny Awards in the 2006 Premier Print Awards, the world's largest printing awards competition. Several thousand entries from around the world were submitted for the Premier Print Awards, and from that pool, only 104 Benny Awards were presented.
Industry Influencer Award
Retired Graphic Arts Monthly Editor Roger Ynostroza, will receive PINE's Industry Influencer Award in recognition of a 34-year career of covering and reporting on the nation's printing and graphic arts industry.
Keynote speaker
Paul V. Reilly, a partner in Compass Capital Partners, one of the leading financial advisory firms serving the printing industry, will be the evening's guest speaker.
