EFI's Margaret Motamed Takes Helm as CEO of CIP4

Foster City, Calif. – Oct. 26, 2006 – EFI, the world leader in color digital print servers, superwide format printers and inks, and print management solutions, today announced that Margaret Motamed has been elected as Chief Executive Officer of CIP4, the industry organization responsible for JDF. Motamed has been active in the graphic arts and printing field for over 20 years in various marketing, technical and research positions, and currently serves as EFI’s director of software platforms. She has held the position of CIP4 marketing director for the past four years. In her new role, effective today, Motamed will serve as the chair of both the CIP4 Advisory Board and the CIP4 Board of Directors, and has the primary signature authority for the organization in both financial and legal or contracting work. She is also responsible for oversight of the organization’s legal matters, oversight and direction of other Board members, and serves as CIP4’s primary liaison to other international standards bodies. Motamed said, “I look forward to playing an even greater role in CIP4, now comprised of 310 member companies. The organization’s focus has been on developing and marketing the JDF specification and now it’s time to focus on expanding the specification to encompass more specialty markets in the graphic arts industry, such as packaging, and to further our educational efforts in partnership with other industry organizations. ” “EFI is a strong supporter of open standards as evidenced by our active participation in CIP4 and other organizations, and more importantly, by our product development efforts,” said Ghilad Dziesietnik, CTO of EFI. “We’re proud that Margaret is the new leader of CIP4, and like the other member companies, we look forward to working with her to take the organization to the next level.” In addition to her CIP4 role, Motamed is the EFI Advisory Board representative to PODI, the sponsor of the PPML language, and a frequent speaker at industry conferences and events.
