Xerox Digital Printing Technology Recognized with 6 Industry Awards

Press release from the issuing company

CHICAGO--Oct. 17, 2006-- Xerox Corporation's digital printing technology was recognized with two "Must See 'em" honors and a "Still Worth a Look" award, along with three "Gold Ink" awards at Graph Expo, the printing industry's largest annual exhibition in North America, held Oct. 15-18. The "Must See 'em" awards, sponsored by PrintCom Consulting Group, are given to the most unique, innovative and compelling products and services at the show, based on an independent evaluation of competitive offerings. This year's awards were selected from nearly 5,700 individual products shown at the event by more than 600 exhibitors. "Xerox remains focused on helping professional printers profit, by continuing to develop innovative digital technologies that increase productivity and provide business-building opportunities," said Bill Lamparter, president, PrintCom Consulting Group. Must See 'em awards were presented to the Xerox Nuvera Digital Duplex System and the Xerox DocuColor(R) 5000 Digital Press. Operating at 288 impressions per minute - 144 two-sided pages - the company's twin-engine technology makes the Xerox Nuvera duplex system run twice as fast with image quality that is equivalent to offset printing standards. The 50-page-per-minute Xerox DocuColor 5000 Digital Press is designed to produce a variety of full-color print pieces, such as marketing brochures, posters and customized direct-mail pieces, and it includes several in-line booklet-making features. A "Still Worth a Look" award was presented to the Xerox iGen3(R) Digital Production Press, which has been repeatedly recognized by this awards program since its 2002 introduction. Gold Ink Awards Tucker Printers, a Consolidated Graphics Company in Rochester, N.Y., received a bronze award in the Digital Printing category, recognizing the high-quality brochures the company produces with Xerox digital printing technology. The awards, chosen from more than 1,500 entries, are sponsored by Printing Impressions and Publishing Executive magazines and are judged by an independent panel of graphic artists, production managers and print buyers. "The Xerox iGen3 has changed the way we do business, and our award-winning applications are proof of that," said Craig Reynolds, president, Tucker Printers. "Customers come to us because they know the high-quality output an iGen3 press can produce, and they won't settle for anything less." In addition to the work by Tucker Printers, Xerox received two honors: the gold award in the Direct Mail Packages-Variable Data category and a pewter award in the Digital Printing category for its own corporate marketing materials showcasing the capabilities of the Xerox iGen3 press and the Xerox Nuvera Digital Production System.
