KODAK MARKETMOVER Network Generates Business Opportunities by Creating and Connecting a Global Print Community

Press release from the issuing company

CHICAGO, Oct. 15 -- Connecting print providers to an expanded pool of marketers who need printing services and more potential business volume than they can access today is the focus of the KODAK MARKETMOVER Network, an innovative commerce networking service the company is launching to help printers grow their businesses. “The KODAK MARKETMOVER Network will generate demand for printing services by facilitating a seamless connection between companies that require print services and those that deliver such services,” said Jeff Hayzlett, Chief Marketing Officer, Graphic Communications Group, Eastman Kodak Company. “We are using the latest technology to make it easier for marketers to leverage new applications such as web to print to maximize their return on investment. The growth in one to one marketing and variable data printing is being fueled by savvy marketers who recognize that digital printing’s flexibility in customizing messages really drives sales.” Printers joining the KODAK MARKETMOVER Network powered by Four51 will use the latest technology to build partnerships with other printers, expanding the opportunities to efficiently outsource projects. All KODAK solutions providers can join the MARKETMOVER Network. KODAK NEXPRESS digital production color press owners will be the initial suppliers, but the MARKETMOVER Network will expand during the next year to include other KODAK solutions providers as well. The MARKETMOVER Network will help printers increase margins and operate their businesses more efficiently. Four51, a leader in creating commerce networks, will supply the technology backbone and functionality for the MARKETMOVER Network. Four51, a Minnesota based firm founded in 1999, has helped set up thousands of private commerce networks and today has more than 500,000 users. The MARKETMOVER Network will be one of the largest private commerce networks in the world. “The KODAK MARKETMOVER Network is going to be a powerful new tool for marketers because they will have access to quality printers with the capabilities to handle nearly any type of printing need,” said Gary Nemcek, Four51 Co-founder and President of the Networks Group. “The MARKETMOVER Network is not an auction bidding site. It matches marketing managers and print buyers with the best available resources to get jobs printed efficiently and effectively.” According to Hayzlett, the MARKETMOVER Network will launch with an aggressive marketing effort to build awareness among marketing organizations and push business to network members. The goal is to help printers build business volume, while allowing MARKETMOVER Network members to better serve their customers by having access to a global network, enabling them to add new services and better manage the technology they have today. “The competitive nature of the graphic communications industry makes it imperative that our customers know we have the flexibility to print jobs large and small, when and where they need them,” said Alan Gardner, Owner of Sir Speedy Printing in Newark, Del. “With the KODAK MARKETMOVER Network we can capture a greater share of our customers’ print spend, protecting our volumes today and growing margins tomorrow.” KODAK MARKETMOVER Network members can expand their workflow beyond the brick and mortar of their business locations, opening a range of options to meet their customer needs. This will enable Kodak customers to build revenue by marketing new services to their clients while managing the printed output through a distribute and print network. Enterprises will be able to maximize their return on marketing programs while leveraging print on demand to save on shipping and inventory costs. “Kodak is focused on helping our customers grow their business. KODAK MARKETMOVER business development services have been helping our customers over the past five years and this latest addition will further stimulate demand for our customers,” Hayzlett said. “The MARKETMOVER Network will put our customers in direct contact with more potential clients, building new relationships that will fuel growth.”
