Roger Ynostroza Is Recipient Of Pine Influencer Award

SOUTHBOROUGH, Mass. (Oct. 12, 2006) - Roger Ynostroza, who capped a 34-year editorial career with Graphic Arts Monthly magazine earlier this year, has been named the 2006 recipient of Printing Industries of New England's Influencer Award. Ynostroza served as editor in chief for 22 years of one of the printing and graphic arts industry's most influential trade journals. From when he joined Graphic Arts Monthly as an editorial assistant in 1971 until his retirement earlier this year, Ynostroza worked on more than 400 issue of the magazine and wrote more than 250 editorials and either helped prepare or supervised the coverage of scores of special marketing an technical supplements, Show Daily newspaper editions, industry directories, and Graphic Arts Monthly's "Century of Print" landmark issue published in December 1999. "Roger has been a consistent voice of wisdom, reason and guidance for our industry for more than 30 years through his editorial leadership with Graphic Arts Monthly magazine," said PINE President Jim Tepper. "When we created the Influencer Award in 2003, we wanted to acknowledge the contributions of individuals whose innovative ideas, enthusiasm, and devotion has helped to propel our industry forward. Roger stands tall among industry peers and colleagues in that regard. We are honored to present this award to him." Past Influencer Award recipients include inaugural winner Frank Romano, professor emeritus from Rochester Institute of Technology; Richard Williams, retired chief technology officer at Presstek Inc. whose work in laser technology helped advance the idea of direct imaging technology; and last year's co-recipients, Warren Loomis and Nicholas Orem, partners of Logic Associates, one of the first computer-based print management systems that helped printers improve their profitability. Paul V. Reilly, a partner in Compass Capital Partners, one of the leading financial advisory firms serving the printing industry, will be the evening's guest speaker. PINE's annual Industry Awards Gala will be held Thursday, Nov. 9th at the Sheraton Needham Hotel, in Needham, Mass. The annual business meeting of the trade association begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by a one-hour cocktail reception at 6. The evening banquet begins promptly at 7 p.m. In addition to the Influencer Award, the Education Award will be presented to the PINE member company that has demonstrated a commitment toward employee training and development over the past year. Awards will also be made to companies with 50-year and 25-year continuous membership in the association.
