The certification status was awarded following the development of a business management system through the use of process-mapping techniques. The system enabled establishment of the disciplines to follow and improve a process, focus on customer satisfaction, measure performance, and continuously imbed operational improvements. BBH Bethlehem Services includes two facilities - Product Reconditioning Services (PRS), specializing in the certified reconditioning of pre-owned mail processing equipment, and Business Continuity Services (BCS), which provides disaster recovery and overcapacity services for printing and mailing operations. The assessments look at the process that a company uses to ensure quality and continuous improvement. The Bethlehem facilities were certified as meeting the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 for the design, manufacture and remanufacture of mail processing equipment, and the provision of disaster recovery and overflow mail processing services. The BBH Bethlehem Services' certificate (#A15515) was presented by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) on Aug. 29, 2006. UL is one of the world's preeminent consulting firms for ISO certification, with the reputation as a leader in product-safety testing and certification within the United States and one of the most recognized, reputable conformity assessment providers in the world. UL granted the registration upon BBH Bethlehem Services' successful completion of a series of quality system assessments.
