Picturesafe integrates digital asset management system myCONTENT with Quark Publishing System 7

Press release from the issuing company

HAMBURG, OCT 31, 2007 - QuarkAlliance partner picturesafe and Quark Inc. announced today an inte¬gration between the digital asset management system myCONTENT and the newly announced Quark Publishing System 7 (QPS). Major industrial groups, service providers and publishers, such as Deutsche Presse-Agentur GmbH, PMG-Presse Monitor GmbH, Volkswagen AG, and Audi AG, rely on myCONTENT, which now offers the basis for sharing a common repository for QPS 7 objects, metadata and additional digital files. Due to the tight technological integration between the Quark and picturesafe systems, all media is directly available to the QPS 7 workflow.
"QPS 7 with its open standard based architecture can very easily be combined with other applications. Therefore it was possible to integrate myCONTENT with QPS 7 straight away," said Herbert Wirth, managing director at picturesafe. "Together myCONTENT and QPS 7 are the perfect team for efficient collaborative workflow management and intelligent multimedia asset management."
myCONTENT organizes all digital media from single images to brochures, as well as audio and video files. It ensures intelligent organization of data, extensive search options and differentiated access authorization. Further, myCONTENT offers a number of valuable additional modules for sharing and commercializing data such as federated search, e-Commerce, digital mark-up and copyright accounting.
Publications created in QPS 7 are automatically stored in myCONTENT, and content is allocated to defined sections, such as an image archive, a text archive, the advertising archive or a page archive. The Categorizer automatically scans the articles, analyzes content and categorizes it according to appropriate specifications. Existing links between assets are maintained. Second cycle use and online publication are possible, and supported by the necessary accounting functions offered by myCONTENT's eCommerce module.
QPS 7 and myCONTENT support all common layout-driven and text-driven publishing practices. Media is made accessible in folders on the myCONTENT Web portal, ready for coordination. Clients, editors, designers, and production managers can access relevant documents and PDF previews to review their production status with the commentary and rating functions and directly assign the next steps in the workflow process with QPS 7.
Axel R. Paesike, director sales and services at Quark Central Europe, said, "picturesafe is known for its excellent database solutions. With the integration of myCONTENT and QPS 7 our customers can now not only streamline production processes, but also better leverage their existing digital assets."
QPS 7 and myCONTENT are fully scalable, making them ideal for mid-sized and large businesses alike. Both systems are easy to install and operate, no matter if the system is used by a small agency or a large publishing house.
