HP Announces First Installation of the HP Scitex TJ8500 Wide Format Industrial Printer
Press release from the issuing company
BOEBLINGEN, Germany, Sept.25, 2006 - HP today announced that Yahav-Fullprint, one of the largest wide-format printing companies in Israel, has become the first company to install the new HP Scitex TJ8500 industrial wide format digital printer. After three months of successful beta-testing, the company realized the benefits of the printer's performance, which includes high-speed wide format digital printing and exceptional durability of UV inks.
The HP Scitex TJ8500 offers a fast ROI and is based on the same platform as the established HP Scitex TJ8300, but uses UV-curable inks, which widens the media support to include untreated materials such as offset and screen papers, as well as uncoated synthetic materials like Tyvek Kovek and Yupo, which are not supported with solvent-based inks.
"The HP Scitex TJ8500 is designed to help our customers increase their competitiveness and profitability with very high print quality, expanded media support and the inclusion of environmentally friendly HP Scitex UV850 Supreme inks," said Dov Ofer, vice president and general manager, HP Scitex. "For smaller print jobs it beats traditional screen-printing on both cost and efficiency, while on longer-run jobs the TJ8500 enables Print Service Providers to offer faster turnaround times."
New Opportunities, New Revenue
At Yahav-Fullprint, the ability to deliver a powerful combination of throughput, cost- effective production and high quality output has helped the firm to win new accounts and service existing customers better.
"In the first two months of having the machine it has printed 30,000sqm (322,917sqft) and we have already put long-term plans in place for it." Commented Zevik Nur, general manager, Yahav-Fullprint.
"In the past we struggled to compete effectively against screen printers," continues Zevik Nur. "Now, the combination of speed and the high resolution prints that the HP Scitex TJ8500 can achieve has helped us secure jobs we'd never have considered pitching for in the past."
For example, for the Israeli film premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean- Dead Man's Chest, the company printed 4,000sqm (43,055sqft) of collateral, including 75, 8x2.5sqm (26x8sqft) self-adhesive billboards, which were printed on the new printer. Another new job includes producing 200 self-adhesive truck-backs per month for an international soft drink manufacturer.
