PARAMUS, N.J., SEPT. 18, 2006 — The R&E Council of NAPL has named Bill Graushar, Research & Development manager for Quad/Graphics Finishing, Sussex, Wis., the 2006 Bindery, Finishing and Mailing Operations Manager of the Year. The award will be presented to Graushar during the R&E Council of NAPL Bindery, Finishing, and Mailing Operations Conference, Sept. 25-27, 2006, in Chicago. First presented in 2004, the award is bestowed annually to a postpress manager with a proven record of providing outstanding service to customers and creating value for his or her company. In announcing the award, Ronald Mihills, R&E Council of NAPL managing director, said, “Bill Graushar’s record of innovation in the area of finishing epitomizes the spirit that this award recognizes. We extend to him our sincere congratulations on this well-deserved honor.” Graushar, who joined Quad/Graphics in 1979, was nominated for the award by Tom Frankowski, Quad/Graphics senior vice president, Manufacturing Operations, and seconded by Hans Wegner, vice president, Production Services, for National Geographic (a Quad/Graphics customer). Frankowski noted that Graushar has helped Quad/Graphics stay on the cutting edge of technological advances. “Bill pioneers new finishing technologies and looks for ways to optimize our finishing processes, while working on the development of new equipment,” said Frankowski. “He collaborates constantly with clients and suppliers to bring about innovative finishing applications and invigorate the marketplace.
