International Paper Elects David J. Bronczek to its Board of Directors

MEMPHIS, Tenn., Sept. 15 -- International Paper today announced the election of David J. Bronczek to its board of directors, effective Oct. 9.
"David brings a breadth of global business and logistics expertise to the board," said John Faraci, International Paper's chairman and chief executive officer. "The experience he has amassed throughout his 30 years with FedEx will bring an important perspective to International Paper, and I'm pleased to welcome David to our board."
Mr. Bronczek is president and chief executive officer of Memphis-based FedEx Express, the world's largest express transportation company, where he began his career in 1976 and worked his way through the organization in a number of sales and global and domestic operations roles. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, he graduated from Kent State University in 1976.
Mr. Bronczek holds a number of board positions, including serving on the board of governors of the National Safe Kids Campaign in Washington, D.C., the board of governors of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the national board of directors for United Way, and the University of Memphis board of visitors. He is also a member of Memphis Tomorrow. He was previously a member of the board of trustees at the International School of Brussels and was formerly a member of the Toronto Board of Trade.
